The Meaning of TYT's Crest

Colours

 

The colours of TYT's crest are taken after the same colours of the Penang State Flag, namely blue, white, yellow, green and brown.

Blue & White Waves

& Pinang Tree

The blue and white waves represent the beautiful blue ocean that surrounds Penang Island. They also represent the 5 administrative districts in Penang and the 5 principles of Rukun Negara.

The Pinang Tree (Betelnut Palm) is the native tree found on the island.

The Wording On The Band Below

This Malay wording " Yang di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang means Head Of State of Penang when translated to English.

The old emblem of the Governor of Penang which has been revoked. It was published in the Government Gazette No. 306 dated 10th October 1965 and effective immediately on that date has been used until the end of 1982

The official emblem of the

Yang di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang

which is officially used from 1983 until now.
