Yang di-Pertua Negeri
The Malaysian Constitution provides for a Head Of State or Yang di-Pertua Negeri (or fondly referred to as Governor in English) to govern the State of Penang.
A YDP's term is for 4 years at a time as it is renewable.

The title of Governor was changed to
Yang di-Pertua Negeri through the Constitution (Amendment) Enactment, 1976 which came into force on
27 August 1976.

TYT's Birthday
The official birthday of TYT Penang falls on the 2nd Saturday of the month of July each year and the day is declared a public holiday.
This year TYT's birthday will be on Saturday, 13 July 2023.

Yayasan Amal TYT Yang di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang is a foundation that was conceptualised by TYT Tun after considering the needs of the people during the pandemic. It focuses on the development and enhancement of mankind regardless of race, religion and society and covers welfare assistance, medical benefits and socio-economic advancement.
